Real food. Zero fuss. All love.

We get asked a lot of great questions — because pet parents
who care about what's in the bowl tend to ask the good ones. Here are straight,
honest answers about our recipes, our sourcing, and how to serve up Your Pet's
Kitchen™ at home.

About Your Pet's Kitchen

What is Your Pet'sKitchen?

Your Pet's Kitchen™ is a line of real-food, ready-to-serve wet meals for dogs and cats. Our recipes are slow-simmered in broth with real meat as the #1 ingredient, plus whole-food veggies and added vitamins and minerals — no fillers, no junk, no guesswork. We come in three easy formats (13.2 oz cans, 3.5 oz cups, and 9 oz pouches) so you can serve as a complete
meal, a topper, or a mix-in, depending on the mood.

What makes Your Pet's Kitchen different from other wet pet foods?

Three things. First, it looks and tastes like real food because it IS real food — you'll see actual chunks of meat and veggies, not a uniform paste. Second, it makes life easier: shelf-stable, easy-to-open, and ready-to-serve, with no thawing and no fridge space required. Third, most of our products are developed by a veterinary nutritionist, with recipes built to support a long, healthy, happy life — not just to look pretty on the label.

Is Your Pet's Kitchen human grade?

Select Your Pet's Kitchen recipes are Human Grade, which is called out clearly on the front of the package, whenever it applies. Human Grade is a regulated term: it means every ingredient in the recipe — and the facility that makes it — meets the same standards required for human food. Not every recipe in our lineup carries the Human Grade designation, so check the front panel or the product page to confirm which formulas qualify.

Who formulates Your Pet's Kitchen recipes?

Our recipes are developed by veterinary nutritionists to make sure every bowl supports overall health — digestion, immunity, skin and coat included, with the exception of our 9 oz pouches, soups, and oatmeal bowls. We don't chase trends. We just build recipes around what pets actually need: high-quality protein, real ingredients, and the right balance of vitamins and minerals.

Where is Your Pet's Kitchen™ made?

Your Pet's Kitchen is made with love in the USA using trusted, globally sourced ingredients. "Made in the USA" means our recipes are cooked, canned, and finished right here. "Globally sourced" means we go wherever the best, safest ingredients come from — because quality matters more to us than geography on a map.

Ingredients & Nutrition

What is the #1 ingredient in every Your Pet's Kitchen recipe?

Real meat (with the exception of our Oatmeal bowls). Chicken, beef, or turkey lead every recipe — it's right there on the front of the package. We build our bowls the way a home cook would: protein first, then wholesome veggies, and broth to round it out.

Why do you slow-simmer everything in broth?

Slow simmering in broth (with the exception of homestyle cans and cups) does two things at once. It develops the rich, home-kitchen aroma that pets love (and that pet parents actually recognize as food). And, it naturally adds moisture and flavor without the need for artificial gravies, thickeners, or fillers. It's a cooking method, not a gimmick — the same one you'd use if you were making a stew from scratch.

What ingredients does Your Pet's Kitchen avoid?

We skip the junk. You won't find artificial flavors, artificial colors, artificial preservatives, or fillers in our recipes. No corn, no wheat*, no soy. Just real food that looks, smells, and tastes like real food — because it is.
*Our breakfast and shred formulas, however, contain noodles, which include wheat.

We don't chase trends. We just build recipes around what pets actually need: high-quality protein, real ingredients, and the right balance of vitamins and minerals.

Are Your Pet's Kitchen recipes complete and balanced?

Yes — recipes labeled as complete meals (with the exception of Oatmeal bowls) are formulated to meet nutritional levels established by the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) Dog or Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for the life stage noted on the label. If a recipe is designed as a topper or mix-in rather than a complete meal, that's clearly called out on the package and on the product page.

Are your recipes grain-free?

It depends on the format. Our pouches are largely grain-free, with some exceptions*. Our cans may include wholesome grains like barley, when they add real nutritional value. Every ingredient is listed on the back of every package — if you have a specific preference or a pet with a diagnosed sensitivity, it’s best to check the ingredient panel, or the product page, to match the right recipe to your pet.

*Exceptions: beef recipes (barley), breakfast formula noodles (wheat), dog stews and soups which contain noodles and rice.

Why do I see real chunks of meat and veggies in the bowl?

Because they're real. We use recognizable cuts of meat and pieces of vegetables on purpose — it's part of our commitment to making food that looks, smells, and tastes like something you'd make for yourself. If it looks like a homemade stew, that's because it pretty much is one.

Do your recipes include added vitamins and minerals?

Yes. Our complete meals contain all essential nutrients for pets, and to support digestion, immunity, and skin and coat health (with the exception of 9 oz pouches). Real food is the foundation — the added nutrients make sure nothing important is missing.

Does Your Pet's Kitchen™ support digestion?

Our 13.2 oz can recipes include prebiotic fiber to support digestive health, and all of our complete meals are formulated to be easy on the stomach. If your dog has specific digestive concerns, talk with your vet about whether Your Pet's Kitchen fits into their nutrition plan.

Feeding & Daily Use

Can I use Your Pet's Kitchen as a complete meal?

Absolutely. Any recipe labeled as a complete meal is formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles and can be served on its own. Just follow the feeding guide on the back of the package, based on your pet's weight and life stage. Note: Oatmeal bowls are meal toppers.

Can I use it as a topper or mixed-in over kibble?

Yes — that's one of the reasons pet parents love it. Spoon it over dry food to add moisture, flavor, and a little excitement to mealtime. Your Pet’s Kitchen is great for picky eaters, senior pets who need a nudge to eat, or any dog who deserves a little extra joy in the bowl.

How do I serve Your Pet's Kitchen — does it need to be warmed?

It's ready to serve right out of the package at room temperature. Some pets enjoy it slightly warmed (about 10 seconds in the microwave, stirred well, and tested for temperature before serving), which can bring out the aroma — but it's not required. No thawing, no prep, no fuss.

How much should I feed my dog?

Every package includes a feeding guide based on your pet's current weight. As a general starting point for complete-meal recipes: most adult dogs eat roughly one 13.2 oz can per 10–12 lbs. of body weight per day, split into two meals. Check your package for the exact guidance, and always adjust based on your pet's age, activity level, and body condition. When in doubt, your vet is the best source.

Does Your Pet's Kitchen™ need to be refrigerated?

Not until it's opened. One of the things that makes Your Pet's Kitchen easier than fresh or frozen options is that it's fully shelf-stable — you can keep unopened cans, cups, or pouches in the pantry. No freezer space, no thaw time, no planning ahead.

How long does an opened can, cup, or pouch last?

Once opened, cover and refrigerate any unused portion and use within 3 days for best quality. Serve at room temperature or gently warmed.

Is it good for travel, camping, or busy days?

Yes — this is one of the places Your Pet's Kitchen really shines. Shelf-stable means you can throw a few cups or pouches in a backpack, a truck, or a suitcase and know your dog is eating real food wherever the day takes you. No cooler, no mess, no compromise.

Safety, Sourcing & Transparency

How do you ensure the safety and quality of Your Pet's Kitchen and its Ingredients?

Every recipe is cooked and packed in facilities that meet rigorous food-safety standards, with quality checks at every stage — from incoming ingredients to finished products. Recipes designated as Human Grade are produced in facilities that also meet the standards required for human food production. We take what goes into your pet’s bowl seriously, because you do too.

What does "globally sourced ingredients" actually mean?

It means we don't limit ourselves to one region when we're looking for the best version of an ingredient. Some ingredients are sourced in the USA, others are sourced from trusted suppliers around the world, where the quality, safety, and availability are strongest. Every supplier is vetted, and every ingredient is inspected. The recipes themselves are made in the USA.

Can dogs with food sensitivities or allergies eat Your Pet's Kitchen™?

Maybe — it depends on the sensitivity. Every Your Pet's Kitchen recipe has a full ingredient list on the package and on the product page, so you can match the right recipe to your dog's needs. If your dog has a diagnosed allergy or medical condition, it’s always best to check with your vet before switching foods.

Is Your Pet's Kitchen good for puppies, adults, or seniors?

All of our formulas are developed for adult dogs (maintenance), with the exception of Oatmeal bowls, which are meal toppers. Each recipe is labeled for the life stage it's formulated for — check the front panel or product page. We build recipes with high-quality protein and supportive nutrition so the right formula can work for the right stage of your pet's life. For puppies and pregnant or nursing pets, make sure the specific recipe is labeled for that life stage.

Is Your Pet's Kitchen good for picky eaters?

This is one of the things we hear most. The aroma of real meat simmered in bone broth is hard for most dogs to resist — even the ones who have turned their noses up at everything else. If you've got a picky pup, try our food as a topper first; the texture and smell tend to win them over pretty quickly.

  • 3.5 oz cups — single-serve Stew Shreds, perfect for smaller pets, smaller appetites, or portion control
  • 9 oz pouches — grain-free recipes like Chicken Pot Pie and Chicken Noodle Stew, easy to squeeze and serve, great for travel or on-the-go

What recipes are available?

Our lineup features real-meat recipes across all three formats — recipes like Beef,
Chicken Pot Pie, Turkey Fare, Chicken Noodle Stew, and more. Not every recipe is available in every format, and we rotate-in new recipes as we develop them. For a current, full list, visit yourpetskitchen.com.

What are the main differences between cans, cups, and pouches?

Our 13.2-oz can is our core complete-meal format with prebiotic fiber for digestion. The 3.5-oz cup is a smaller, single-serve "Stew Shreds" format designed for easy portioning. The 9-oz pouch is lightweight and can be resealed with your own clip — ideal for travel, topping, or multi-pet homes. All three share the same commitment: real meat first*, no junk, and home-kitchen flavors pets get genuinely excited about.
*Oatmeal bowls do not contain meat
